Ana Sims Obituary
Ana Lucia Sims, a beloved resident of Napanoch, NY, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the age of 61. Born on March 1, 1962, Ana was the daughter of the late Augusta Diaz Martinez and Valentin Martinez.
During her life, Ana found joy in tutoring at the Ellenville Library and serving as a Home Health Aid. She had a passion for reading and cherished the works of Anne Rice as her favorite author. Ana's unwavering faith in the Lord was a constant source of strength throughout her journey. She was courageous and humble. Ana's love for nature is where she often found solace and peace. She also had a love for all animals especially dogs.
Ana was recently preceded in death by her loving husband, John G. Sims Sr., with whom she shared many years of love and companionship after their marriage on June 8, 1997.
Ana is survived by her father Valentin Martinez and stepmother Rosario Martinez. She leaves behind her dear son Michael Thomas and her grandchildren - Ruth, Bernie, Ana, Kelly, and Stacy Thomas and John Joseph Sims, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Ana also leaves behind her beloved twin sister, Ana Hedberg, and her caring siblings Jose A. Martinez, Melvin Martinez, and Erika Martinez. Additionally, numerous nieces and nephews will carry her memory with love.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18th from 10 am to 12 pm at Loucks Funeral Home located at 79 N. Main St., Ellenville. A funeral service to honor Ana's life will commence at 12 pm, with burial following at Fantinekill Cemetery.
