Thomas (Tom) Herbert Keener, aged 68, peacefully passed away on March 1, 2026, at home surrounded by family and loved ones. Tom was born in Ellenville, NY on December 3, 1957, the son of the late Herbert and Nancy Crain Keener.
Tom was known for his love of the outdoors. He was an avid fly fisherman and there wasn't a bass that could hide from him. He loved hunting and being in nature but he loved camping with his family the most. Always teaching his family about nature and listening to music.A proud Army Veteran, Tom served country from 1982 -1986. His proud commitment to his country followed him throughout his life inspiring his son and oldest grandson to dutifully serve their country as well.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Kelly Keener; his children; Jamie (Joseph) Pensabene, Andrea (Keith) Gordon, Thomas (Juli) Keener, Beth (Mark) Wyman and Michelle (Mike) Smith. He has 17 grandchildren; Daniel, Jacquelies, AJ, Lorenzo, Chris, Maria, Sarah, Rose, Anna, Abby, Brittany, Celeste, Riley, Markie, Parker, Claudia, Xander and on great granddughter,; Deliah. He is also survived by his siblings; Brian (Michelle) Unteberger, Kevin (Jane) Unteberger, Tim Keener, Rosemary (Marco) Litchfield, Scott Keener, Robin Damms and several nieces and Nephews.
Tom predeceased by his parents Herbert and Nancy Crain Keener, his brothers; Lee Damms and Kenny Keener, his sister; Tina Youmans and his nephew; Mikey Youmans.
A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
