Andrea (Stevens) Anderson, 83
Andrea (Stevens) Anderson died June 14, 2022, at Casa de la Luz Hospice, Tucson, Arizona.
Andrea was born on April 4, 1939, in Lewiston, Maine, to Millard and Dorothy Stevens. She grew up in Auburn, Maine, and graduated from Edwards Little High School in 1957.
Andrea met the love of her life, Peter Anderson, during a youth group in high school, when she was a sophomore and he was a senior. The pair tied the knot Feb. 28, 1959, in an intimate church ceremony.
In 1961, Andrea earned an associate's degree in applied science majoring in medical secretary from Westbrook Junior College in Portland, Maine.
Andrea and Peter lived in Massachusetts for 45 years, the last 36 of them spent in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, where their daughter, Carolyn, and two sons, Michael and John, were raised. She worked as a teacher's aide in Chelmsford Public Schools, then as an optician for two different optometrists.
The couple moved to SaddleBrooke, Arizona, in 2002 and would "sun duck" in Maine and New Hampshire until 2017, when they remained permanently in the hotter state.
One of Andrea's most treasured titles was "grandmother." Always the hands-on type, Andrea was a devoted grandma to her three grandsons - Brian, Chris and Garrett - and granddaughter, Audra.
Andrea loved to spend time with her family at "Camp," a cottage built by Peter's father on Thompson Lake in Casco, Maine. She was the hostess with the mostest.
Andrea enjoyed doing a multitude of crafts, playing card games like Bunko with her SaddleBrooke friends, putting golf with the MountainView Lady Putters, cooking, baking and volunteering at the Golden Goose Thrift Shop in Catalina, Arizona.
In July 6, 2021, Andrea became a great-grandma. There was nothing that could have wiped the smile from her face the day she met her great-granddaughter, Emma.
She will be dearly missed for her support, kindness, intuition, gentle demeanor, grace and generosity. Andrea was preceded in death by son Michael Anderson, mother Dorothy and father Millard.
She is survived by husband Peter Anderson, SaddleBrooke, sister Carol Woodard, Auburn, Maine, daughter Carolyn (James) Fialkowski, Chelmsford; son John Anderson (Karen Topham), Blaine, Washington; daughters-in-law Lori Anderson and Dawn Anderson; granddaughter Audra Anderson, Bellingham, Washington; grandsons Garrett (Mara) Anderson, Chandler, Arizona, Brian Fialkowski (Madison Pyle), Gresham, Oregon, Christopher (Samantha) Fialkowski, Whitman, Massachusetts; and great-granddaughter Emma Fialkowski, Whitman.
