Andrea Jane Derrickson

Andrea Jane Derrickson of Harrington, Delaware, passed away Sunday January 25th, 2026, at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.

She was born June 28th, 1957, in Helensburgh, Scotland, to Janet Forrest and to the late Robert K. Hall.

She served in the United States Army in 1979. Andrea was a selfless and incredibly kind person whose gentle spirit touched everyone she met. She loved to sing and especially enjoyed karaoke, filling rooms with music and laughter. Andrea had a deep affection for animals, particularly birds and dogs, and found joy in caring for them. She expressed herself through her love of tattoos and was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to everything she did. Above all else, Andrea's greatest love was her son, Marcus, who always held the first place in her heart. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and knitting, creating thoughtful gifts for others. She also generously gave her time volunteering with Code Purple, reflecting her compassionate nature and desire to help those in need.

She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, William L. Derrickson, Jr.; her mother, Janet Batdorf; her son, Marcus (Lindsay) Derrickson; stepchildren, Bryan (Meghan) Derrickson; her daughters, Mary (Todd) Beresford and Jessica (Raymond) Gilbertson; and eight grandchildren; brothers, her twin, Steven Hall (Clive) and Ross Hall (Erin).

Memorial services will be held 11:00am, Friday February 6th, 2026, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Delaware. Friends and family may gather hour prior.

Interment will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, February 6th, 2026, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Georgetown, Delaware.
