With deep love and gratitude, we announce the passing of Andrea Marie Douglas, age 86, who peacefully departed this life on November 3, 2025, in
Bonita Springs, Florida, surrounded by the care of family. Born on February 13, 1939, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Andrea lived a rich and meaningful life built on faith, family, service, and friendship.
Andrea married William Kenneth Douglas, and together they shared a wonderful life of adventure, home, and community. Their journey took them across continents: 12 years in Japan, 2 years in Chicago, approximately 15 years in Short Hills, New Jersey, then back to Ontario, Canada, before settling in Florida. Their summers at Lake Opinicon remain treasured memories of family, laughter, and connection.
A proud alumna of the University of Manitoba, Andrea carried her education into her roles as a dedicated social worker and compassionate homemaker. Her heart was always open to others, and she created a home filled with warmth and belonging.
Faith was central to Andrea's life. She was an active and devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church, participating in the women's group and serving others with quiet strength and joy. Her faith anchored her, and her service uplifted those around her.
Beyond her service, Andrea embraced life's simpler pleasures. She was a longtime member of the Pelican Landing Golf Club, watched tennis with keen interest, delighted in the New York Times crossword puzzles, and enjoyed the camaraderie and laughter of her bridge club. Her wit, intelligence, and kindness made her both a trusted friend and a cherished confidante.
Andrea is survived by her children: Michael James William Douglas and Kathleen Stenson (Montauk, New York), Nichola Claire Douglas and Jeremy Nesoff (Boston, Massachusetts), and Jennifer Lynne Douglas and Kent Shell (Brooklyn, New York). She also leaves behind loving grandchildren: Madeleine McLaughlin Cravens; Delilah Douglas Cravens; Willa Josephine Nesoff; Leo Douglas Nesoff; and Julian Kingsland Nesoff, also her brother Dennis (Connie) McLaughlin (State College, PA) and her sister Beverly Boyd (Purse, Australia) . In honoring Andrea life of love and service, a memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, officiated by June Barrow. She will be laid to rest at Camden Memorial, where her spirit will rest surrounded by the trees, memories, and legacy of all she loved.
Andrea's presence brought light into the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, faithfulness, curiosity, and love. May we honor her memory by caring for one another, finding joy in simple moments, and living our days with the same generous spirit she shared.
