Andrew P. Barranca Jr. passed away unexpectedly at his home in Connelly, NY on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 23rd at the age of 69. 
  Andy was born on December 8, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY to his parents Andrew P. Barranca Sr. and Joan M. (Freese) Barranca. He attended Grover Cleveland High School and Brooklyn Technical High School.    Andy moved to Connelly, NY in 1972 and has resided there since. He had retired from The New York State Department of Corrections in 2019 and was loving every moment of his “big vacation”! He loved going out on his ATVs with his friends.    Andy was preceded in death by his loving father, Andrew P. Barranca Sr. (1999), his beautiful mother, Joan M. Barranca (2022) as well as a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins.    He is survived by his brother, Victor Barranca Sr. and his wife, Lillian of Port Ewen, his niece and Goddaughter,  Jennifer Barranca Atkinson and her husband, Matthew (of Clermont, FL) and his beloved, nephew, Victor Barranca Jr. and his wife, Liana. (of Media, PA)    Andy’s wish was to be cremated and the family will have a private gathering honoring his memory at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in his name to the Ulster County SPCA.
