Jerry was born June 19, 1948 in Cheatham County to the late William Alex and Ollie Beatrice Sensing Batson. He was a member of Orlinda Church of Christ and was a local general contractor. His hobby was working with an occasional golf game mixed in. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Allen and Steve Batson, and sister, Sharon Gayle Batson.
Surviving him are his wife, Vickie Martin Batson of Springfield; sons, Andrew Jerry (Tonya) Batson, Jr. and Travis Brandon (Tamara) Batson, all of Springfield; grandchildren, Shelby (Dylan) Parks, Andrew William Batson, Britton Isaiah Batson, Paityn Hope Batson, and Beckett Josiah Batson; great grandson, Everett James Parks; brothers, Billy (Jean) Batson of Springfield and Joe (Jennifer) Batson of Franklin, KY; and sisters, Mabel Gill of Ashland City and Maia Mahlum of Atlanta, GA.
