William Howard "Woody" Woodall, Jr., 91, of Cedar Hill, passed from this life on Saturday November 15, 2025, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Wednesday November 19th at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Springfield Baptist Church with Dr. David Evans officiating. Interment will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Lebanon, TN with his longtime friend, Reverend Carl Price, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 18th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home and on Wednesday November 19th from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Springfield Baptist Church.
"Mr. Woody" was born September 3, 1934, in Lebanon, TN to the late William Howard and Ruby Pauline Hobbs Woodall, Sr. He was a graduate of Lebanon High School Class of 1952, where he excelled in football. Mr. Woodall accepted Christ at a young age and joined First Baptist Church in Lebanon where he served in several leadership roles. He was currently a member of Springfield Baptist Church. He was employed with the Southern Baptist Sunday School Board (now known as Lifeway), where he worked in the architecture department as a draftsman for 35 years. Mr. Woodall's greatest loves included his family, ice cream, and driving his tractor on the farm that he and his late wife, Joyce Simms Woodall, purchased in 1966. He liked saying he was a "poor dirt farmer".
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Joyce Kathryn Simms Woodall, and by his sister: Linda Gill. Mr. Woodall is survived by his children: Kathy (Jerry) Gardner of Santa Fe, Anson (Melissa) Woodall of Cedar Hill, and Keith (Tish) Woodall of Springfield, by his grandchildren: Ryan (Amy) Gardner, Eric (Pamela) Gardner, Mikel (Tyra) Woodall, Austin (Emi) Woodall, Joshua Woodall, and Caleb Woodall, by his great grandchildren: Jayda Gardner, Brooklyn Gardner, Bartholomew Gardner, Connie Mae Gardner, and Ezykiel Woodall, and by his sister: Karen Woodall of Nashville.
Mr. Woodall's family wishes to express their appreciation to his former caregiver: Rosemary Graves and to his current caregivers: Victoria Clary and Rocio Mason, who he considered family.
If so desired, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home or to Springfield Baptist Church to be used for mission outreach. All donations may be sent c/o the Robertson County Funeral Home.
