Virginia Johnson Trimble Ritter, age 87, of Adairville, KY and formerly of Nashville, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Donnie Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville with Kenny Betts Jr., Jeffery Brown, C.J. Betts, Timo Johnson, Ethan Farmer, and Kenny Bernstein serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John Roth III, Mickey Miller, Quick Floyd, and John Madole. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 until 7 PM and Friday from 9 AM until the time of service.
Mrs. Virginia was born July 10, 1938, in Springfield to the late Thomas Benton and Carrie Ann Cook Johnson. She was a graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1956 and was a member of the Metro Nashville Police Department's Intervention Homicide Support Group. She was a retired secretary/receptionist for American Constructors where she worked for 20 years and was formerly the teacher of the 3- and 4-year-olds at Westminster Kindergarten from 1971 until 1983. She received several awards in her lifetime including the 2012 Voice for Victims Award, The 3rd Annual Powerhouse Award, and the 2009 Adairville South Logan County Chamber of Commerce Humanitarian of the Year Award.
Mrs. Ritter was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles K. Trimble, Sr. and Frank L. Ritter; her daughter, Marcia Trimble; daughter-in-law, Theresa Knight; brothers, Ray, Carl, and Paul Johnson; and sisters, Pauline Bowen, Lounette Allen, and Joyce Evans.
Surviving her is her son, Charles K. Trimble. Jr. of Adairville, KY; step-son, Michael Ritter of Nashville; step-daughter, Andrea (John, Jr.) Roth of Nashville; grandchildren, Misty (Kenny) Betts, Ashleigh Brown (Stephen), Haleigh (Ethan) Farmer, Jeffery (Nicole) Brown, John Austin Roth III, Sylvia Elizabeth Roth, Anna Burns Roth, Ruby Ritter, and Axie Ritter; great grandchildren, Presley, C.J., Haley, and Alexus Betts; Abel, Palmer, and Allie Brown, Harley, Emma, and Walker Farmer; great-great grandchildren, Zayden Smith and Ava Brown; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Trimble of Springfield.
The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to Robertson County Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. Any excess will be donated to TN Voices for Victims.
