Andrew "Speedy" Davis Jr. was born on January 22, 1959, in St. Louis, MO, to Andrew Davis Sr. and Mildred Hill. He was the first-born son. He suddenly departed from his earthly assignment on Saturday, April 15, 2023.
At a young age, Andrew developed a love for dancing, basketball, fishing, and having fun. He enlisted in the United States Army and Virginia Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged in 1992 after thirteen years of service to our county. He later obtained his GED from Job Corps in Crystal Spring.
Andrew was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Davis, and sister, Tishia Davis.
Andrew leaves to cherish his memories both sets of parents, Hugh and Mildred Turner of Sledge, MS, and Andrew and Gwendolyn Davis of Helena, AR; children, Jucoby, Gary, Gregory, Gerene, Genita, Gene, Galetha, and Gerald; sisters, Connie, Juanita, Sharon, Stacy, April Lynn, Iris, Claretta, Siretha, Shasta, Irene, Libby, Lisa, and twins Stacy and Shannon; brothers, Kim, Anthony, Ras, Oscar, Ron, Chase, and Phillip; special friends, Bernetta Jackson and Aletha Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Facial coverings are required. Interment with military honors will take place at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
