Andrew Jeffrey Day, 55, of Tobyhanna, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Born in Rochester, New York, he was the son of Edward and Priscilla (Leedy) Day. In spite of Andy's multiple physical problems from birth, he was courageous and had a sense of humor. He was small of stature with a large heart. His interests were music, theater and movies. After High School he moved to New York City and studied acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Among other projects he acted in the Brooklyn Shakespeare Company, Chelsea Repertory Company and was a stand-in for the Hope and Faith Show. He was a member of the New York City Church of Christ. Andrew had a lead role in the play, "The Cat in the Cradle" at the Philadelphia Walnut Street Theater and he also performed at Wolf Trap National Park for Performing Arts near Washington, D.C.
Another passion was sports as he followed the Buffalo Bills, the Cincinnati Reds, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Anaheim Ducks Hockey team.
Andy lived for a time in Los Angeles, CA where he had opportunity to meet many interesting people at his job at the Anaheim Ayres Hotel. Situated in the midst of the Anaheim Angels Baseball Stadium, the Honda Center (home of the Anaheim Ducks ice hockey team), the City National Grove of Anaheim Performing Arts Center, and Walt Disney World, Andy had opportunity to engage with professional athletes, performing artists, and avid fans at his work.
He is survived by his parents, his brother, Edward Day and his wife Robin; uncle, Preston Leedy and his wife Judy and several cousins.
The family is grateful for the excellent care he received from the DaVita Dialysis Staff in both East Stroudsburg and Tobyhanna.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Pocono Mountain Bible Fellowship Church, 141 Montanesca Road, Mt Pocono PA on Sunday, December 22 at 12:30 p.m.
Contributions may be made to The American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
