Ruth Day

Ruth A. Day departed this life on Thursday September 4, 2025. She was a special lady who touched so many lives, affectionately known as "Maw Maw Ruthie" to many. She loved Karaoke and doing crafts.

Ruth was born in Bangor, Maine on March 28, 1940 to Robert and Dorothy Robinson. There she met the love of her life John H. Day. After marriage, she moved to Mississippi where they made their home.

There they raised four children, Joyce Freeman (Wendall), Robert Day (Becky), Jimmy Day (Cindy), and Rebecca Scott (Bob). She has thirteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She also has three brothers who survive her Dale Robinson, Ralph Robinson, and Arthur Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband John H. Day, parents Robert and Dorothy Robinson, brother Veda Robinson, sister Lottie Norton; grandson Levi Freeman, and great granddaughter Samantha Floyd.

Visitation is Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, Ms. Visitation Sunday, September 7, is from 2:00 P.M. until time of funeral services at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home, officiated by Bro. David Fortenberry. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.

Pallbearers are John Halford, Alton Perry, Christopher Scott, Matthew Scott, Cole Tarver, and Chris McDaniel.
