Andrew Gaidis

Andrew Gaidis, 67, of Bristol, died on Tuesday (December 23, 2025) at John Dempsey Hospital.

Andrew was born on October 3, 1958, in Bristol and was a son of the late Alfred S. and Margaret (Hayduck) Gaidis.

A lifelong Bristol resident, he graduated from Bristol Central High School Class of 1976.

His family includes his partner forever Evelyn; his sisters, a brother, a daughter and their families, and many, many friends.

Andy worked in the automotive field for 45 years before his recent retirement. He was the owner of Professional Automotive in Forestville.

Andy loved hot rods and street rods, traveling to many states for shows, going to their favorite show in Nashville, and building cars and trucks himself. As an engine builder, he had the skills and talent to build and repair any engine. Andy loved music and would sing to Evelyn anytime they were driving down the road. Their harmony in song and life was very special.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother: Alfred J. Gaidis, who died in action during the Vietnam War.
