Samantha (Sam) L. Guenther, 38 of Plainville (hometown of Bristol) passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025 at The Hospital of Central CT surrounded by loved ones. Sam was born on January 22, 1987 to Carl Guenther and Debra (Grant) Fuhrman.
She was a graduate of Bristol Central High School and was employed by Parker Hannifin in New Britain as a Tech.
Sam was a beautiful and kind soul who touched so many lives. She was full of love and very giving of herself. She was a great listener and had a natural knack for giving positive advice. Sam had the brightest blue eyes and a contagious smile. Her laugh was infectious. She was full of radiant energy and lit up every room. It didn't matter what mood you were in, just being in Sam's presence made the world a much better place. She was an animal lover and every cat, dog, bunny she encountered just wanted to be with her, especially her two fur-babies, Booger and Atreyu. Sam was an avid outdoorsman, her love for camping, fishing, hiking, kayaking, swimming, bike riding, snowmobiling, gardening and just simply anything agricultural. She loved going to Puerto Rico to visit her dad and bask in the sun and she loved going to New Hampshire with her Aunt and Uncle where she would thrive, whether it was just hanging out or going on adventures.
Sam also had a special way of bonding with people, young and old. Her second cousins admired her and she admired them, forming a bond like no other. A brat pack of Sam, herself, Zachary Jones, Hunter Jones, Bryce LaPointe, Faith Pillsbury and Monique Bocash.
She is survived by her father, Carl Guenther and wife Bruni, her mother Debra Fuhrman and husband Stanley. Her brothers, Allen McBurney and wife Taylor, and Nicholas Fuhrman. Her step brother, George Gonzalez and wife Victoria. Her step-sisters Jennifer Algarin and Brenda Gonzalez. Her Bestest Aunt and Uncle Ann Marie and Raymond Raffles. Her aunts, Beverly Lapointe and husband Mark, Carol Martin husband Timothy, Kathy French and Donna Pope. Her uncles Michael Grant and David Grant. Several nieces and nephews and many cousins. She also leaves behind some very special people in her life, Rachel and Daniel Pitts, Linda Soucy, Michelle Yepes, Andria Boykin, Elizabeth Grabeck, Eleanor Rogers and Cathy Ryan. Sam was predeceased by her brother Derek C. Guenther, Paternal
Grandparents Merwin (Red) and Helen Guenther and Maternal Grandparents Carl and Irene Grant.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Calling hours are from 10 am to 12 pm. Memorial services to follow. Shaker-Hill Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation of CT., 366 Main Street, Terryville, CT 06786.
Sam will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
