Mr. Andrew Guidry, 80, of Sulphur passed away at 9:40 AM, Thursday, January 27, 2022, in his residence.
He was a native of Gueydan and a life resident of Sulphur, La. Mr. Guidry was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Campaign of the Bay of Pigs in Cuba. He was longtime member of The Knights of Columbus Council #8376 and Our Lady of LaSalette. Mr. Guidry enjoyed deer hunting, camping, hiking, bow fishing and boating with his children. He also loved wine making, playing bingo, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ramona "Moni" Guidry of Sulphur; daughter, Donna Blake; three sons, Danny Guidry and wife Leeana and David Guidry and wife Alicia all of DeQuincy, and Dustin Guidry and wife Codie of Sulphur; eight grandchildren, Gina, Brandy, Andy, Amanda, Christofer, Nicholas, Sarah, and Brandon; five great grandchildren, Leo, Sabrina, Audra, Addison, and Talon; brother, Raymond Guidry and wife Diane of Sulphur, and his sister, Juanita Trahan of Johnson Bayou, LA.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 1,2022 at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur with Rev. Terry Niziolek officiating. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Monday, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:00 PM, Monday, and will resume Tuesday from 8:00 AM until departing for the Church.
