Andrew J Heitzmann

Andrew J. Heitzmann, 94, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away at home on Tuesday June 11, 2024. Born in Jersey City, NJ, Andy proudly served our nation in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for the NJ Turnpike Authority for many years before retiring to Little Egg Harbor in 1992 where he was a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 493. 

Andy’s talents included playing instruments by ear, fixing things without directions and speeding without tickets. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, going to OTB, and watching Westerns and the NY Mets. His passion for cards, jokes, donuts and coffee was paralleled by his deep love for his family.

Andy was the devoted husband of his beloved wife Geraldine for 61 years before her passing. He is survived by his loving children Dennis Heitzmann (Lidia Merena), Linda Clark (Patrick), and Brett Hetizmann (Robin), grandchildren Christopher, Danielle, Nicholas, Michelle, George and Stephanie and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 17th, 2024 from 3-7pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd. Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Entombment will take place on Tuesday June 18th, 2024 at 11:30am (please meet at the main office at 11am) in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens US Hwy 1 North Islin, NJ 08830. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Please check back for details.
