Obituary of Andrew Charles Hilton
Andrew Charles Hilton, 84, of Summerfield, Florida passed away July 25, 2023, at Life Care Center of Ocala, Ocala, Florida. He was the husband of the late JoAnn Hilton who passed away on February 20, 2018. They had been married for 47 years.
"Andy" as he preferred to be called was born in St. Petersburg, Florida a son of the late Andrew and Mildred Hilton. Andy was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, he became a police officer with the Tacoma Park police department in Tacoma Park, MD. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the Tacoma Park Fire Department. After moving back to Florida, he served as a volunteer fire fighter with the San Carlos Park fire department and was eventually elected Fire Commissioner of the district. Prior to his retirement he designed and installed automatic fire sprinkler systems.
He was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church, Lady Lake, FL. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Andy is survived by son, Matthew Hilton and his wife Mycheal of Lehigh Acres, FL, daughter, Kelly Noel Morgan and her husband Alvin of Summerfield, FL, sister-in-law, Cindy Sands and her husband George of Wildwood, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mildred, wife, JoAnn, 2 sisters, Liz Galasso and Mary Frey.
Interment will be private at the Florida National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview, FL 34420. Condolences may be left at Hiers-Baxley.com"
