Herbert Hilton Obituary
He grew up and graduated from Madison. Following High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After his discharge in 1967, he went to work for AT&T in Ashburnham, MA until retirement. It was at this time, he met the Davis family and built wonderful memories. He so enjoyed helping on the farm, having several horses and dogs through the years.
In 2007, he moved to Winslow. He always enjoyed sports and could be found watching the Red Soxs and the New England Patriots. He was fortunate to have "coffee buddies" that he looked forward to meeting at McDonalds 3 times a week. I am sure all the world's problems were resolved during that time.
He is survived by two sisters, Norma (Paul) from Vincentown, NJ, and Elizabeth from Brunswick; cousins John (Sandra) Matthews from Skowhegan and Margaret Matthews from Winona Lake, IN, as well as several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, September 4th at 11:00 am at the Athearn Cemetery on the Starks Road in Anson.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville. An online guestbook may be signed, condolences and memories shared at www.gallantfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waterville Humane Society, 100 Webb Road, Waterville, ME 04901.

Herb was a man that I wished I had asked more questions about his living on the farm. He told me stories about the farm when we were looking at the pictures on his wall. If we went out to eat he would graciously pick up the tab. My family enjoyed the tomatoes from the plants he shared and also his rhubarb. To his family I´m sorry you lost him but so glad I got to meet him.

My Dad, Herschel Hall, worked with Herbie at AT&T in Ashburnham, MA.
I have fond memories of attending the AT&T outings that Herbie hosted at the Davis Farm. He visited my parents often and they played a lot of cribbage together. I enjoyed talking about the Red Sox with him. Condolences to his family and the Davis family. RIP
