Andrew Wallace Jackson Jr. passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, at the amazing age of 99, with his youngest son, Steve, by his side.

Andrew, also known as “Andy” or “Jack,” was born August 27, 1926 in Ainsworth, NE, the eldest child and only son to the late Andrew and Ruby Jackson. Andy grew up with four beloved sisters, Ruby, Dorothy, Jean, and Bonnie, all of whom have since passed away as well.

Andy proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during WW2 and was a crew member of the USS Bremerton (CA-130 Baltimore Class Heavy Cruiser). Andy was a Plank Owner of the vessel having been an original crew member during its Seas Trials and after being Commissioned.

On January 20, 1951, Andy married Marilyn Sprague in Ainsworth, Nebraska. The pair had two sons, Rex and Steve, and moved their young family to Casper, WY in the late 1950’s. Andy and Marilyn enjoyed 67 beautiful years together before Marilyn passed away in January of 2019.

After his service in the Navy, Andy worked various positions in the oil field, drove truck, and worked at First Interstate Bank before he retired.

Andy lived a very full and well-traveled life. A cancer survivor, Andy made the most of his long and happy life. Marilyn and Andy went on many exciting trips and cruises in life together, but often talked most notably about their long, enjoyable trip driving the Alaska Highway. They also loved to spend the winter months in Mesa, AZ, where they made many dear and cherished friends.

Andy’s favorite place to be of all was Alcova Lake where he and the entire family and their friends enjoyed many summers at their trailer, lovingly called “Jackson’s Hole.”

Andy was a kind and gentle man who had a wonderful sense of humor and always had the time to sit and chat with anyone he met. He’d greet everyone with a wave and say “how do?” He was loved by many, especially his family, and he loved spending time with his 2 sons and their wives, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.

Having lived to 99, Andy saw many dear family and friends pass away, too many to mention here, but he is survived by many as well who will remember and honor him always for the amazing person he was.

Service information will be available soon.
