Andrew J. 'Butch' Krawchuk

Andrew J. "Butch" Krawchuk, 74, of Franklin Avenue, Palmerton, died peacefully on Monday morning, Sept. 8, 2025, in his home. He was the husband of Sally J. (Behun) Krawchuk since April 29, 1972.

He was employed as Northeast Regional Manager of the Huffy Bicycle Corporation, Dayton, OH, for many years. Previously, he worked for the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Oxide East Plant, Palmerton, and as a truck driver/delivery route for the former Palmerton Coca-Cola Bottling Co.

After retiring, Andrew enjoyed working as a school crossing guard for the Palmerton Borough.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Russell Sr. and Emily H. (Hrusovsky) Krawchuk.

He was a life member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton, where he served as Eucharistic Minister, usher, sexton and maintenance man. He was instrumental in creating the Grotto Shrine at the church's New Parish Cemetery.

A 1969 graduate of the Palmerton High School, he also was a former board member of the Palmerton Memorial Park Assoc. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with and caring for his grandchildren and garden.

Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Amanda C. Krawchuk-DiGiovanni of New Market, MD; sons, Andrew F., and his wife, Jennifer of Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, and Michael T., and his wife, Carlina, of Morris Plains, N.J.; 10 grandchildren;' a sister JaneAnn, wife of Elwood Bowman of Shermans Dale, Perry County; a brother Jan, and his wife, Michele, of Slatington; a sister-in-law, Barbara (Goodrich) Krawchuk of Henderson, TX; and nieces and nephews.

He was also predeceased by brother, Russell Jr.

Service: Memorial service 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. Interment, Sacred Heart New Cemetery, Stoney Ridge Road, Palmerton. Call 9-11 a.m. Friday.
