Andrew Denes Mathe was born to Denes and Bertha Mathe (Preda) on December 9th, 1947 in St. Paul, MN. Andy was a first generation American as both of his parents were born in Transylvania. He graduated from Mechanic Arts High School, went on to Technical School and received a Bachelor's in later years while he was working. He worked for almost 50 years at 3M and retired as an IT Manager.
Andy married Delores in 1984, and they were married for 40 years. Andy always supported his children and grandchildren in all of their activities. He liked movies, reading, bowling, softball, and going out to eat. Andy liked to donate his time to help others. Andy was blessed with so many friends and family that really cared about him.
Andy is survived by his wife, Delores. His two sisters Vilma and Ilona. His children Denny (Tricia), Rita, and Heather. His grandchildren Bridget, Molly, Jestin, Sophie, Alexis, Alex, Andrew, and Jamie.
There will be a Memorial Service on August 14th at 11 am at North Church a Presbyterian Community. 2675 East Highway 36, North St. Paul, MN.
There will be a luncheon after the service, at the church.
Private Burial is the day before.

Andy was so kind to us cousins and had a really nice heart. Meeting up at family gatherings was always fun, I remember Andy being a pretty good fast pitch softball player. Bill Driver and Andy would play catch in the Preda's front yard. Andy would throw the ball underhanded being a pitcher. He will be missed. The Drivers

Andy knew every Chinese restaurant within 20 miles of 3M, and he, Dale Kiedrowski, Kenn Krech, Pat Cleary, and I went to at least one per week. I think Leo's Chow Mein was our favorite place. Leo's was always an adventure!
