Andrew McFarlane, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and devoted friend, passed away on August 24, 2025, in Akron, Ohio, at the age of 79. Born on December 20, 1945, in Kilsyth,Scotland, Andrew would go on to lead a life full of dedication and service that touched many hearts.
Andrew proudly served in the United States Army, after his military service, he embarked on a remarkable career with the Hoover Company, where he dedicated 40 years of his life, showcasing the same work ethic and perseverance that defined his character.
A graduate of Goshen Schools and an attendee of trade school, Andrew displayed a lifelong passion for learning and personal growth. He cultivated a vibrant life enriched by interests that included golf, tennis, and a steadfast support for the New York Yankees. However, nothing brought him more joy than watching his grandchildren in their various sporting events, where his passion was evident to all those around him.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Jackie (Davis) McFarlane, who stood by him through all of life's journeys. He is also survived by his son, Tim McFarlane, and his daughter, Tiffany McFarlane, along with his eight cherished grandchildren: Sydney McFarlane, Reese McFarlane, Liam McFarlane, Caiden Jones, Graham McFarlane, Collin Jones, Callum McFarlane, and Camden Jones. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and their laughter and achievements brought him immeasurable joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary McFarlane, his grandson, Logan Jones, and his sister, Myra Weimer.
A private service will take place. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit, Ohio. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Salem Chapel, www.BrownFhOnline.com, (330) 337-6363.
