It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew (Andy) James Miller, Jr. on March 11, 2025. He was born on July 3, 1935 to Alice E. (Ford) and Andrew James Miller of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Andy was a member of the Pittsfield High School graduating class of 1953. After serving in Germany, Andy was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1959. He graduated from Burdette Junior College in 1963 with a degree in accounting. In 1961, Andy met his wife of over 60 years. Andy and Helena were married on October 12, 1963. Together they spent their lives in Lawrence welcoming three boys Andrew, Michael and Brendan. In addition to raising his three sons, Andy cherished his annual hunting trips with his brother Jerry and his nephews. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Andy was a letter carrier in North Reading and retired from the U.S Postal Service after 35 years of service. He enjoyed delivering mail and getting to personally know the families on his route. Andy's customers loved him so much, they gave him a retirement party and posted his picture on the front page of the local newspaper!
Andy was predeceased by his wife, Helena Cassidy Miller of Lawrence, brother Gerard Miller, sister, Eleanor Beitzel, and sister, Rosemary Benjamin. He is survived by his sons, Andrew Miller, III (AJ) and his wife Karen of Lawrence, Michael Miller of Lawrence, Brendan Miller and his wife Marcie of Brookline and granddaughters Adela Cassidy Miller and Vivienne Rose Miller; sister-in-law, Joann Cassidy and her husband Richard Goetz; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
