Andrew Jack Sandmeier was born July 31, 1977 in the Panama Canal Zone, the son of Jack and Kathie (Cooney) Sandmeier.

Andrew graduated from Ruby-Van Meter High School. He lived most of his adult life at the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella. He enjoyed his job at the workshop. In his spare time, Andrew enjoyed video games, the Hawkeyes, coloring, the Back Street Boys and Marvel movies. Andrew was a very kind and loving person, and he loved to tell jokes and entertain people.

Andrew passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at the age of 48 years.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Sandmeier and grandparents: Margaret and Cleo Cooney and Warren and Irene Sandmeier.

Those left to cherish Andrew’s amazing life include his parents: Kathie (Steve) Huff and Jack (Tam) Sandmeier; sister, Tracy (Kirk) Keffer; sister-in-law, Courtney Sandmeier; nieces and nephews: Grace Sandmeier, Jackson Sandmeier, Hunter Gray, Frankie Keffer and Kash Keffer and many aunts, uncles other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian Opportunity Center of Pella.
