Andrew Robert Switzer of Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Monday, July 7, 2025. Andrew was born on August 22, 1980, in Fontana, California, to Marvin, "Dean" Switzer, and Susan Sharon "Moates" Switzer. Andrew grew up in California until his family moved to Oklahoma in the late 1980s.
He was raised on a large farm near the Skiatook and Sperry areas until his family moved to the Terlton area. He attended Cleveland Public Schools from then on and graduated in 1999. After high school, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and attended the Nashville Auto Diesel College for 2 years. Upon graduation, he moved back to Oklahoma and reconnected with his childhood friend and sweetheart, Crystal Vandever.
On March 22, 2003, Andrew and Crystal were united in marriage at the Terlton First Baptist Church in Terlton, Ok, with his father, Dean, now a pastor, officiating the union. During their marriage, they were blessed with two sons, Vincent, born in 2004, and Xander, born in 2010. Andrew and Crystal lived in Cleveland, Oklahoma, until May 2004, when they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for Andrew's work. For several years, Andrew worked with individuals with mental disabilities until taking a job with the Quapaw Company in the Skeedee area as a heavy equipment operator. He continued to do so until 2019, when the company was sold. He then started doing food and grocery delivery, which he enjoyed, meeting new people and playing with friendly dogs. He absolutely adored dogs. In his off time, Andrew enjoyed relaxing at home with his family, lying in his hammock, and sitting in his swinging chair on their covered porch, enjoying the cool breezes. Andrew was loved immensely and will be missed greatly.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Crystal, two sons, Vincent and Xander, and doggy daughter Gypsy, all of Stillwater, Oklahoma. His father, Dean, and step-mother, Shelley Switzer of Terlton, Ok, two brothers, James and Scott Switzer, two nieces, Alexys and Jazlyn, and one nephew, Jaymes, also of Terlton. His grandmother, Karen Atchley, and a host of other Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. He is survived by his in-laws, Kenneth and Charlotte Vandever, and one brother-in-law, Kendall Vandever, also of Terlton, along with several other family members and friends. Andrew was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Switzer; grandfather Robert Atchley, one angel baby niece Shaylee Rai Switzer, and his best friend Shawn Lee. Memorial plans will be shared at a later time.
