Andrew "Andy" Tuerck

Andrew "Andy" Tuerck, age 87, of Temple, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple. He was born into this world on the 21st day of July in the year 1937 to parents Joseph Michael and Celestine Mary (Beimer) Tuerck in Westphalia, TX.
He grew up in Westphalia with his family but unfortunately had to move when he was 8 years old to Temple because of a fire that burned down their family home. Andy would grow up in the farming and agricultural industry. He worked for Leon River Turkey Farms in Temple and was instrumental in establishing many of the best practices used in the industry today. He would go on to meet the love of his life, Ramona May Quinn and they were married in Temple in the home of a Baptist preacher on August 24, 1956. They would spend almost 69 years of love and devotion to each other through thick and thin. They have two wonderful sons with whom they taught a strong work ethic, and the meaning of love, devotion, and compassion. Andy was a life-long Catholic and was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia, TX.
Andy loved the outdoors, spending his time fishing and watching the deer grazing out in the fields. He was not a hunter, preferring to watch animals out in the wild. Andy was a member of the Central Texas and Bell County Sportsman Club of Temple. His presence amongst those who knew him will leave a space that cannot be filled again, but his life here was filled with love and joy which he shared with everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
Andy leaves behind his loving wife, Ramona Tuerck of Temple, their sons Andy Tuerck Jr. of Bastrop and Michael Tuerck of Temple, and his brother Frank Tuerck. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He will truly be missed but all can rejoice at the life he lived.
A visitation will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple, TX on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.; a service will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Brother Jeff Ball. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Greathouse Cemetery in Temple.
