Andrew Vasil

Andrew Vasil, age 88, of Avon, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Ames Hospice House in Westlake. He was born August 9, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Andrew and Mary (nee Kocsmaros) Vasil.
Andrew was raised on Cleveland's east side and graduated from Holy Name High School. Following graduation he began working, and soon started a position at General Motors. He worked for GM, doing different jobs at different facilities, until his retirement after more than 30 years of dedicated work. Andrew enjoyed time outdoors, especially fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, growing flowers for his wife, and boating and camping through the West Shore Boat Club. In June of 1961 he married the love of his life, Beverly (nee Hunt) Vasil and they shared more than 50 years of life, laughter and building a beautiful family. Andrew was a great dad and loving papa, but extended his care to everyone he knew constantly putting their needs and feelings before his own. He was a beacon of steadfast love that will be missed by all who knew him.
Andrew was the beloved husband of the late Beverly Vasil; loving father of Elizabeth Vasil-Phillips (David), Michael (Kimberly) Vasil, and David (the late Lisa) Vasil; cherished Papa of Jacob, Cory, and Kaitlin; and dear brother of Betty (George) Novak, Anna Thur, and the late Mary Wise and Margaret Hlavaty.
