He was born April 30, 1952, in Covington, KY, to the late Jesse Lloyd Wolfe and Lou-Evelyn Louden Wolfe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, MaryLou Wolfe Richmond, and brother, James Michael Wolfe. Andy spent his early childhood at various Naval Submarine bases up and down the East Coast. His favorite memories were of his time spent on his grandparents' farm in West Virginia. He was a graduate of Kellam High School in Virginia Beach, VA. In May of 1972, Andy was drafted during the Vietnam War, which led to him being trained in orthotics and prosthetics by the Air Force. After finishing out his eight year commitment to the military at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Co, he worked for The Navigators at Glen Eyire for the duration of one year and then he went into Civil Service at the Veteran Hospital in Denver, CO and Fort Carson Army Base in CO. While living in the Colorado Springs area, Andy and his wife, Barbie, had filled their quiver with eight children. After 26 years living in CO, he moved his family to Omaha, NE where he worked at University of Nebraska Medical Center and other private brace shops. After spending ten years there, Andy and Barbie, along with their youngest daughter Sadie, moved to Atlanta,GA where he worked for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in the Prosthetic and Orthotic Department for 17 years until his death.
Andy and his wife, Barbie, were married for 53 years. Andy loved the Lord and purposed to live his life in a way that honored Jesus Christ. This was the foundation of his marriage and was reflected in his relationships with his children, family and life long friends. Condolences can be expressed online at www.mckoon.com
