Andy Jerome Cowan, known to all as Jerome, passed away at his home in Tazewell, TN, on May 17, 2025, at the age of 51. Born in Tazewell, TN on April 26, 1974, Jerome was a man whose presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew him.
Jerome was a loving son, father and brother. He is survived by his parents, Carl and Barbara Cowan, his sons, Tristin Cowan, Hunter Cowan, and daughter Makayla Middleton, brother Chad and sister-in-law Erica Cowan, his granddaughter Presley Middleton, and his nieces Courtney and Carissa Cowan. A very special person in his life, Chastin Kinningham, and a special friend, Robert Joe Green. Jerome is also survived by a special first cousin and trading partner Kernie Venable. Each relationship was nurtured with care, and Jerome's influence will continue to be felt by each life he touched.
His passion for the outdoors translated into a reputation as an avid coon hunter, a hobby that brought him much joy. Jerome found great pleasure in taking son Hunter to baseball games and watching him play. He was a member of the Lone Holly Baptist Church.
As we say farewell to Jerome, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life that truly embodied the best of what it means to be a part of a community, to be a friend, and above all, to be family. Jerome's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories, laughter, and love he shared with each of us. Though he may have left this earthly realm, the impact of his gentle spirit will continue to resonate for generations to come.
The family will receive friends Wednesday May 21,2025 from 11am till 1pm in the Claiborne ~Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with services to follow in the Claiborne ~ Overholt Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Overholt and Rev. Tim Cosby officiating. Burial to follow immediately after the service in the Irish Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Tommy Givens, Robert Joe Green, Zachary Walker, Dakota Clonce, Johnny Williams and Clint Walker.
