Angel Dechter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Linnemann Funeral Home - Erlanger on May 8, 2025.
Angel Deanne Dechter, 50, of Hebron, KY, passed away at her home on Thursday, May 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Angel was born in Jonesboro, GA to Sherry Tarpley. She resided in Georgia through high school and then moved to Birmingham, AL. She worked as a Comair Gate Agent Supervisor from 1994-1999 at Birmingham and CVG airports while obtaining her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from NKU in 2002. She dedicated her life to nurturing others-first as a teacher, then as a devoted stay-at-home mom, and later returning to her passion in the classroom. In 2005 she earned her master's degree in Elementary Education. Angel served as a representative for the Boone County Teachers Union, where she was a fierce advocate for educators' rights and well-being.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was deeply involved in her children's lives, proudly supporting her son's Cub Scout Pack and her daughters' Girl Scouts Troops, and her children's various academic, athletic and artistic achievements.
Angel treasured camping, traveling, and family vacations to Gatlinburg and the beach, with a recent highlight being a magical Disney Cruise where she swam with dolphins and manatees. A lifelong animal lover, she shared her home with four adopted cats and three beloved dogs.
A fervent fan of Georgia Bulldogs football, Angel found local joy in community traditions, often attending Cincinnati Reds games, Goetta Fest, and Party in the Park-the site of her and Andy's first date.
She was preceded in death by her father, Randall W. Moore.
Angel is survived by her loving husband, Andy Dechter; children: Olivia Parhad, Evan Parhad and Ellie Dechter; mother, Sherry Tarpley Moore; siblings: Alan Gulledge, Scott (Amy) Gulledge, Kristin (Richard) Dill, half-sister, Lisa Gulledge Palmer; aunts: Reva (Billy) Horton, Jana (David) Tuck and Kimberly Philips, MarySue (Steve) Bryan; uncle, Darryl (Debra) Tarpley; nieces and nephews: Leann, Sherry, Karly, Lacey, Jessica, Whitney, Mary Mae, Blake (Jordan) Gulledge, Andrew Kaltreider, Braelynn Hollis, Ember-Lynn and Lillian Dill; cousins: Anthony Tarpley, Stephanie Ackerson, Joshua Tuck, Valerie Gober, April Drake, Brandon Philips, Britney Philips, Beth Gogan, Tiffany Wilson; and numerous second cousins and other relatives including, but not limited to: Donna Qualls, Carol Haynes, Gary Gulledge, Elizabeth Olney, Breanna Gover, Sarah Prince and Taylor Drake; in-laws, Samuel and Kathy Dechter; brothers-in-law, Christopher and Steve (Shari) Dechter; nephew and niece, Maxwell and Zoey Dechter; close friends: John and Berry Van Rijswijck, Chris and Barbara Stegman and numerous close friends from Boone County Schools, Comair Airlines, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, and other various associations.
Memorial services to celebrate Angel's life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to The Boone County Animal Shelter, 5620 Idlewild Road, Burlington, KY 41005, from where Angel and her family adopted many of their four-legged family members.
