Visitation for Angela Guan, age 12, of Palatine, will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Interment will be private.
Angela was born on January 17, 2012, and passed away on November 25, 2024.
Angela was a 7th-grade student at Plum Grove Junior High School in Palatine, IL. Her hardworking, compassionate, and diligent nature earned her the respect and friendship of classmates and teachers alike. A gifted artist, Angela often expressed herself through heartfelt drawings of her friends. Her dedication to academics earned her a place on the Advanced Honor Roll, and her athleticism shone in physical education, where she developed strong volleyball skills and eagerly anticipated joining the school team in the upcoming semester.
Angela demonstrated a remarkable level of independence, maturity and responsibility in her daily life. She was always punctual, completing her schoolwork with discipline and excelling without assistance. Known for her meticulous nature, Angela took pride in her appearance, choosing her outfits, hairstyles, and makeup with care. Beyond her academic and extracurricular achievements, she engaged thoughtfully in political discussions, showcasing her curiosity and intelligence.
Before attending Plum Grove Junior High, Angela briefly studied at Pleasant Hill Elementary School in Palatine, where she participated in volleyball and enjoyed school picnic days. Earlier, she attended Asheville Academy in North Carolina, where she made tremendous academic strides, completing two years of coursework in just 16 months. While at Asheville Academy, Angela discovered her talents for dancing and singing, performing enthusiastically in group activities. Prior to that, Angela was a student at Millburn Elementary School and Kent Place School in New Jersey.
Angela is survived by her loving parents, Wei Guan and Linxia Guo; her cherished brother, Jason Guan; her adored aunt, Ning Guan, along with many other caring aunts and uncles; and her treasured grandparents, Min Chen, Yong Zhou Guo, and Boqi Guan.
Angela’s bright spirit, talent, and love will be forever remembered. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace and forever watch over her family.
