Angela Jones, a devoted wife, mother, Nona, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and friend, passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 73, surrounded by family. She was born on January 17, 1952, in Washington, D.C. to Daniel and Echolene Mardelle (Johnson) Lagana. Angie grew up in Capitol Heights and graduated from Central High School in 1970. She met the love of her life, Chuck Jones, in Junior High and they were married on August 6, 1971. They have made their home in Dunkirk for over 35 years. She enjoyed a successful career with the United States Postal Service in Labor Relations for more than 30 years, retiring in 2007. Angie spent her life caring for others and putting other people's needs above her own. She loved cooking and feeding others, caring for her family, spending time with her grandchildren, and following them to every sporting event and dance recital. She was blessed to have many lifelong friends; family and friends were everything to her. Angie was truly an angel on earth who touched many lives and served as a Mom to many. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing slot machines, traveling, going to the beach, and collecting Betty Boop memorabilia.
Ang will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all of those she touched throughout her life.
Angie is survived by her loving and devoted husband Charles Jones Sr., children Elaina Jones of Trappe, Charles Jones Jr. and wife Heather of Lothian, grandchildren Addisen, Adelle, Charlie, and Ada, and siblings Linda Ball and Marie Stamp and her granddogs Duke and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Echolene Lagana, her brothers, Danny and Tony Lagana, and nephew Ronnie Ball.
Angie's family would like to thank CalvertHealth Medical Center for their outstanding care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers and in keeping with Angie's love for all children, donations can be made in her name to the foundations listed below.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
