Angela Dawn (Hicks) Kennington went to be with her Lord on 3/7/2025 at Baylor, Scott and White, Fort Worth, Texas. Visitation will be Thursday, 3/13/2025 from 5p-7p at Fisher Funeral Home, 604 W Main St,
Denison, Texas. Funeral services will be held Friday, 3/14/2025 3pm at Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery 1501 TX-91,
Denison, Texas.
Angela was born in Greenville, Texas to Laura Marie Chandler-Hicks and Pat Williams Hicks I on October 6, 1971. She went to school in Bonham, Texas and attended Cosmetology School.
Once Angela's daughter, Kyrsten Hicks-Tucker, was born you knew why she was on this Earth, to be a Mom. Angela was hard worker both inside the house and out, making sure everything was taken care of for those she loved. Giving of herself not only to working long hours at work but also caring for others like her parents in failing health. As her life unfolded she was able to overcome many hurdles in life. Many people could not believe the strength of such a tiny woman. Even through those times, she would shine her light and with a forgiving heart would continue on.
She married the love of her life, Kevin Kennington, on June 22, 2018. She was Bonus Mom to Kayla, Kanaan and Meagen, to which she loved as her own. Kayla and Kanaan were young and she helped co parent them with their mother. Her passion for her four kids would always shine though with love, nurture, and compassion. Having lost her parents at an early age she took Dale and Sue Kennington as her own even calling them "Mom and Dad".
Angela and Kevin lived a busy and adventurous life together, whether it was on the lake, ocean, snowy mountains, building and driving hot rods or racing cars. She was always up for an adventure, whether it was something fun or even working hard; she was always there with him. They would drive coast to coast on trips having fun and making memories together. She was finally living the life she always wanted.
Angela knew more about cars than the average female and had conquered more throughout her lifetime than the average person. She was a hair stylist for over 30 years until an unfortunate car accident in 2020 made that no longer possible. Even though she was unable to do things she once did with ease, she never gave up and never complained, only stated facts of the matter.
Angela loved being LaLa to her grandchildren, Theo, Eliza and Brynlee and kept them every chance she could, they meant the world to her. She was also Mom to her faithful companion Bella Rae who was always by her side. Angela loved her friends and having good time whether in person, on phone, or messages. To her closest friends Deann Hicks, Kim Lane, and Rhonda Youngblood, she thought the world of you.
Angela was the most, loving, accepting, forgiving, patient, strong and hardest working person you could have the privilege of knowing. Her bright eyes, laugh and smile were contagious and they will forever be remembered and forever missed.
Angela was preceded in death by her parents Laura Marie Chandler-Steen and Pat Williams Hicks I, and brother Pat Williams Hicks II.
