In Loving Memory of Melvin Emory "Randy" Hitsman II

With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the remarkable journey of Melvin Emory Hitsman II, lovingly known as Randy, who passed away August 19, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Boone, Iowa. Randy devoted his life to faith, family, and the many young lives he shaped through 55 years of teaching and coaching.

Randy was the devoted husband of his beloved Judy for 58 beautiful years-a love story built on faith, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Together, they raised three children who made him endlessly proud: Amy McDaniel and her husband David, Kelly Minter and her husband Jason, and Joe-Allen Hitsman and his wife Mandy. He was Grandpa to 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, each of whom he cheered on from the sidelines, the stands, and the front row of their lives.

A man of God, Randy lived his faith every day, often saying, "God is my head coach." His passion for football and track was matched only by his love for his family. He led teams to state championships, inspired countless athletes, and never missed an opportunity to attend a game, meet, recital, or event for those he loved. At home, he found joy in a good western, a full house, and the laughter of his family.

Randy will be remembered for his dedication, his humor, and his heart. He was a coach not only in sport but in life-teaching hard work, faith, and perseverance by the way he lived.

A celebration of Randy's life will be held on September 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Sue Walker Performing Arts Center, Caddo Mills High School.
