Thomas Clifford Hitsman

Thomas Clifford Hitsman of Bay City, age 65, our beloved husband, father, "Big G" and friend went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
He was born on August 5,1959, in Midland, Michigan to the late Robert Sr. & Harriet (Fulton) Hitsman. While attending a Halloween party he met the love of his life, Beverlie Caspers. They dated, fell in love and were united in marriage on October 1, 1994, at Trinity-St. James Lutheran Church in Munger and she survives him.
He was employed by Quantum Composites as a Senior Lab Technician, retiring in 2019 after 35 years of dedicated service. Tom was a member of Trinity-St. James Lutheran Church in Munger, where he held many different offices throughout the years.
Tom is best described as a gentle, kind, stubborn, and loving man. He was always proud of and cared very deeply for his family; never missed a dance recital, choir/band concert or sporting event that his children were involved in. His favorite pastimes included reading, hunting with his boys, fishing, and golfing. He was passionate about cooking and sharing his love of food with family and friends, especially his potato bacon soup.
Along with his wife Beverlie, he is survived by his children, Jessica (Keegan) Nielsen, Matthew (Marissa) Hitsman and Daniel (Makenzie) Hitsman. He was grandfather or better known as "Big G" to Kane Nielsen and Baby Hitsman, due in February; his fur baby, Gus; siblings, Belinda Meyers and Dorothy (Daniel) Elliot; his father and mother-in-law, Paul and Mary Louise Caspers; brothers-in-law, Paul (Beverley) Caspers, Marty (Alisa) Caspers and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded by his brothers Baby Boy Hitsman, Robert Jr. (Linda) Hitsman, nephews Lucas Caspers, Ryan Smigiel, and his niece, Melissa Mallak.
To honor Tom's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Squires Funeral Home, 211 N. Henry Street, Bay City. On Saturday, February 1, 2025, visiting will continue at Trinity - St. James Lutheran Church, 119 E. Munger Road, Munger from 10:00 AM until his 11:00 AM Memorial service, with a luncheon immediately following. Pastor Jimmy K. Riley will preside.
