Angela Pauline LewisApril 20, 1937 - May 14, 2024Angela Pauline Lewis peacefully passed on May 14, 2024, of natural causes. She was surrounded by her loving family at her home in Aztec, New Mexico. A private family Celebration of Life will be held this June along the San Juan River she so dearly loved. She is survived by her loving husband Jim Lewis, her brothers and sisters Anita Martinez, Mario Ulibarri, Maria Hancock, Rubin Ulibarri along with Angelas children Myra Green, Blaine Stewart, Kirk Stewart, Stephen Bryant, and Garry Bryant with their spouses, as well as her grandchildren Laura Herndon, Sandy Efird, Candace Bryant, Setera Childress, Allen Green, and Josh Stewart with their spouses and a growing collection of great grandchildren.Angela was born in Farmington, New Mexico on April 20, 1937, to Lucille Lobato Ulibarri. She was raised in Blanco, New Mexico by her grandparents Abelino and Naciencena Lobato. She was a member of the Saint Rose Parish, attended school in Blanco and graduated from Aztec High School in 1956. She also attended San Juan College in Farmington where she graduated with an Associate Degree in Business. In August of 1977 Angela married the love of her life Jim Lewis. In 1981, together they started and successfully ran J. D. Lewis Company Inc. in Bloomfield, NM. In 2000, they closed up shop and began the next stage of their lives together. This time included traveling in their various motorhomes, 20 years as active residents of the Alamo Country Club, in Alamo Texas, and enjoying their growing family. Over the years, Angela excelled in her golf game winning numerous tournaments, often beating Jim and the other men and she and Jim really loved to dance. Angela was well loved in her community as she was a source of joy to all.A woman of noble character, Angela was clothed with strength and dignity. She laughed through the hard days she endured. She spoke with wisdom and gave faithful instruction, as she watched over the affairs of her household without idleness. We, her children, arise and call her blessed. Her husband, Jim blesses and praises her also. Many women do noble things, but she surpassed them all. Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Lord, give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at your city gate. Proverbs 31:25-31 To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Angela, please visit our Tree Store.
