Angela Janelle Mitchell, 80, of Midland, GA, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025. A graveside service will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 SR-165, Ft. Mitchell, AL, on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:00am EST, with Rev. Hank Reeves officiating.
Angela was born in Columbus, GA, on December 13, 1944, daughter of the late Addie O’Hearn. After graduating from Jordan High School, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Leland Mitchell. She remained his faithful and devoted wife for 60 years, until her passing. Angela worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Bullock County Hospital as a phlebotomist until retirement. After a diagnosis treatment within her family, she was inspired to raise money for the Diabetes Association. Angela successfully raised thousands of dollars over a few years. She was extremely social and loved to talk to people. She knew everyone at local stores and genuinely cared about other people. Angela loved animals, always having a dog to love on. In her free time, she enjoyed planting flowers. After retirement she traveled across the US with her husband and some friends. She loved traveling and going on cruises. Most of all, Angela loved God and her family. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Angela is preceded in death by her mother, Addie O’Hearn; and sisters, Wanda and Gail. She is survived by her beloved husband, Leland Mitchell; daughters, Shay Bullock (Dirk), and Breka Arnold (Jason); grandchildren, Kaitlynn Bullock and Syri Arnold; and siblings, Dorothy, Helen, and Billy (MaryAnn).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
