Charles William Walker, 74, of Columbus, GA, passed away on October 16, 2025. A graveside service will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 SR-165, Ft. Mitchell, AL 36856, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 11:00 am EST, officiated by Rev. Hank Reeves.

Charles Walker was born on April 21, 1951, in Michigan to the late Charles Ray Walker and Bernice Pirwitz Walker. In his 20’s, Charles decided to join the United States Army. During his service he was awarded numerous medals such as the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, NATO Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Kuwait Liberation Medal, etc. Charles then continued to work for the Department of Defense as an Installation Training Ammunition Manager in the DPTMS Training Division until his passing. He was a member of The Lions Club, Elk Club, VFW, and American Legion. He loved to travel, especially home to Michigan. In his free time, he would often watch Westerns and cherished spending time with his grandchildren. When he was younger, he loved to go bowling and to work on the farm. He was a big fan of John Deere tractors. Charles was a kind and passionate man with a great love for family. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Charles Walker is preceded by his parents; and life partner, Marilyn Mabardy.

Charles is survived by his sons, Scott Walker (Amanda), and Robert Walker; life partner Marilyn Mabardy’s children, Greg Conner and Lorrie Josey (Jody); grandchildren, Kayley Morris (Matthew), Autumn Teague (Tyler), Charleigh Walker, Kellyn Walker, Frankie Conner, Samantha Conner (Scott Cook), McKenzie Conner, Kelsey Holt (Butch); and great-grandchildren Izzy Morris, Constance Bartle (Cesar Segue), Conner Biller, Brynley Biller, Charleigh Griffin, Asher Conner, and Summer Holt.
