Mrs. Bailey was born August 09, 1939 in Geneva County, Alabama daughter of the late Carlos Kyser and Beckie Williams Keyser. She lived in Columbus most of her life where she graduated from Baker High School in 1957 and began working at Southern Bell/BellSouth until her retirement in 1988. She married the love of her life, Thomas Lloyd Bailey on November 29, 1957. They had two children, Danny Bailey and Cindy Lawrence.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church. She had previously been a member of Norris Road Baptist Church, Temple Baptist Church and 2nd Baptist Church. She was very active in various ministries of the church over the years. She and Lloyd had the opportunity to go on several mission trips where they thoroughly enjoyed serving others in those communities. She was also very faithful to send cards for all occasions and continued to do so even when her health declined and she could not attend church regularly.
She had many talents of which one was baking. She shared many cakes (multi-layer chocolate cake was a specialty of hers) and tea cakes with friends and family through the years. She also loved to crochet and do hand-embroidery. Many people have received a blanket and/or a set of pillowcases from her throughout the years.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lloyd Bailey; her son Danny Bailey; two infant grandchildren, Rebecca and Michael Bland; sisters, Evelyn Jeanette Kyser and Lola Sellers; brothers, Grady McGee and Howard Kyser Sr.; brothers-in-law, Clyde Bailey, Bobby Bailey, Pete Sellers and William Bailey; sisters-in-law Syble Bailey, Linda Bailey, Charlotte Bailey, Bonnie McGee and Loni Kyser.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy Lawrence (Larry) of Columbus GA; daughter-in-law Sherrie Bailey of Columbus GA; Sister Flora Bailey of Manchester, GA; grandchildren Melissa McCall, Tammy Middleton (Greg), Adam Lawrence (Jill), Matthew Lawrence (Jesie) and Joshua Lawrence; ten great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren; brother in laws Hayward Bailey, James Bailey (Judy) and Donnie Bailey (Faye); and many special nieces and nephews.
