McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory - ColumbusRebecca (Grammy) Hadley, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on September 16, 1966, in Fort Benning, Georgia, Rebecca was a devoted cosmetologist, loving sister, cherished mother, and proud grandmother.
Rebecca was known for her spunky, resilient, and—at times—delightfully “abrasive” spirit, Rebecca brought energy and laughter wherever she went. She dedicated her life to her family, building a strong and loving home with her husband of 35 years, Tony Bucklew, and raising their three children: Jennifer, Stephen, and Georgia. She had a passion for hairstyling and spent many years making others feel confident and beautiful through her work. Most days she enjoyed being in the kitchen, cooking up southern style meals to share with her family and friends. Her strength, honesty, and fierce love for her family will never be forgotten.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; Richard Lee Hadley and Deetta Jean Hadley; and siblings; Richard Hadley and Lesa Monk. She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony Bucklew; children, Jason (Jennifer) Bucklew, Jennifer (Bryan) Rosales, Stephen (Rebecca) Hadley, and Georgia (Nicholas) Hadley; grandchildren: Kelci, Kalyn, Keali, Kinsley, Lexi, Aubri, and Parker; Siblings: Judie (Wayne) Cayce, Karyn Buchanan, Sister in law Donna Hadley; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory.
She Is Gone
By David Harkins
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
