Angela Gweneth Williams-Huff

On October 14, 1960, a cool, but mild day, Angela Gweneth Williams-Huff, was born to Curtis and Martha Williams. She was the sixth born of eight siblings. Early on in life, it was obvious to see that Angela was a friendly, outgoing individual. Her mother coined her as the "star" due to her endearing charm, evidenced even as an infant and her God-given singing gift. She and her family lived in the proud and diverse neighborhood of Hunterdon Street (#568), where they first settled in 1948.
Angela was educated in the Newark school system, attending Avon Avenue, Clinton Place Junior High and Malcolm X Shabazz High schools. She was a graduate of Malcom X Shabazz in 1977.
Angela's professional career included employment as a data processor for various businesses in Newark and Belleville, New Jersey.
Angela's growth and development included the wonderful relationships with her siblings, cousins and friends. The Williams clan was very close and this served as a blessing as they had each other's backs while growing up.
Those that knew Angela, also knew her singing skills. One funny event, tinged with some sadness though, involved her and her niece, Donna ("Bunny"), performing at a talent show held at their junior high school. Stage fright ruled the moment as they could not perform before the audience. Angela held back while Donna, not a singer, tried to save the day, but to no avail. They laughed at each other's attempts to salvage the performance without success. The sadness was that Angela never graced the stage again. However, to witness her voice was always a divine gift and brought tears to this reader's eyes on several occasions. Just the same, there was a wonderful defining moment in this star's life:
On March 1, 1979, a chilly day with light snow flurries, Angela and the late Nathaniel McCoy gave birth to the sunshine of her life, Akeeya R. Williams.
Angela entered into holy matrimony with David Huff on 4/25/15. Their loving relationship lasted until her passing.
Angela is joined in calm and sweet repose by her parents and siblings: Arsie, Melvin, Charles, Debra, and Bertha.
Those left to celebrate her precious memory include her daughter, Akeeya, husband, David, sisters – Mamie and Lena, loving nieces, nephews, cousins, loving in-laws and best friends forever, Brenda Allen and Lenda Smith, plus a host of other relatives and friends.
