Angelo "Eddie" Messina ObituarySayreville
Angelo "Eddie" Messina, age 82 of Sayreville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Born in Manhattan, NY, he lived in Iselin before moving to Sayreville 55 years ago. He was a graduate of Woodbridge high School and was proud to be the Captain of the 1960 Central Jersey Group 4 State Champion football team. Before his retirement, Eddie worked as a driver and salesman for Wonder Bread for 35 years. A member of the Teamsters Local 194, he was a past president/treasurer from 1996-2000. He was a disabled Air Force veteran and served in the Air Police during his time in the service.
Eddie was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Sayreville.
He is predeceased by his parents Angelo and Anita and his siblings Frank, Salvatore, and Anita.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, Arlene Brzezniak Messina, his loving children Edward and his wife Donna, Lori Ann Przywozny and her husband Matthew, his cherished grandchildren Kalina, Brianna, and Izabella, and many other loving family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Calling hours at the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main St. Sayreville will be Thursday from 6pm to 9pm.
Funeral services will be Friday 9:30am from the funeral home with a 10:00am funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will follow at St. Stan's Cemetery in Sayreville.
