Angelo J. Schillace

Angelo J. Schillace peacefully passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, while with family in Bush, Louisiana at the age of 86.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominick Schillace and Katy Canino Schillace. Angelo is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy “Dotsy” Lagarrigue Schillace, his five children, Angela Dugas (Gene), Christina Pineiro (Jack), Catherine Schillage, Steven Schillace (Lisa), and Megan Robbins (Jesse); his grandchildren, Nicole Wright (Glenn), Jacob Dugas (Amber), Jordan Pineiro (Breanne), Sarah Cosse (Jonathan), Waren Anderson, Daniel Dugas, Rosaline Robbins, and Frankie Schillace; his great-grandchildren, Carter and Jaxson; and his brother, Frank
Schilleci (Diane).

Angelo was born in Hammond, Louisiana, and graduated from McDonough Senior High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1957. He was a veteran of the Louisiana Air National Guard.  Angelo and Dotsy raised their children in St. Bernard Parish. He worked as a switchman for CSX
Railroad (formerly L&N Railroad) for over 30 years before retiring in 1995, and moving to Bush, Louisiana. He enjoyed painting, music, exercising, fishing, working his vegetable gardens, and spending time with his family. He was a dedicated and loving father to all his children. Angelo felt strongly about his Christian faith, as well as, sharing the Word of God to help lead others to Christ.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Egan Hospice, along with Gina Wehner, for their care and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday May 16, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home  75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435. Burial to follow in the Eternal Rest Cemetery.
