Anita Horne Brown, 104, a loving, and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at her home of 68 years, surrounded by her family.
Service at Lucas Funeral Home: 1321 Precinct Line Road Hurst, Texas. Thursday October 9th at 2:00 PM; Burial at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery, Colleyville, Texas.
Anita was a woman of great faith and a member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst. She lived by the golden rule, was very humble, a wonderful role model and inspiration to her family and friends. Anita served her country as a certified Rosie The Riveter, during World War II. On 9-10-2020, the US Department of Labor inducted these women into the Labor Hall of Honor for helping our nation win the war.
Her hobbies included fishing, bowling, a good game of 42, and playing her ukulele. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, 5 sisters, 1 brother and numerous nieces and nephews.
Anita was blessed with 3 children Kenneth Brown and wife Mary of Hurst, Deanne Brown Harvey and late husband Ray of Hurst, Cindy Ann Brown Decker and husband Allen of Keller: 6 grandchildren Reanne, Robert and wife Chris, Kenneth Jr, Kayla, Kristie and husband Ryan and Kortney. 7 great grandchildren Blake and wife Stephanie, Brooke and Katie, Levi, Jackson, Jake, Riley, Reid and 2 great -great grandchildren Gracie and Gabriella.
