Anita Jo Ann Goodrick, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 14, 2025, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 81.
Anita was born on January 9, 1944, in San Bernardino, California, to Martin and Velma Coday. From a young age, she displayed a sassy and joyful spirit that would come to define her life and the deep bonds she formed with those around her.
She met the love of her life, Loren "Sonny" Goodrick, while living in Goose Bay, Labrador. The two were married on March 17, 1962, beginning a lifetime partnership that spanned over six decades. Together, they raised three daughters: Lisa Thomas of Elk City, Oklahoma; Theresa Crawford and her husband Allen Crawford of Crescent, Oregon; and Misty Goodrick of Duncan, Oklahoma.
She was a devoted grandmother to five grandchildren-Elyce Thomas, Dylan Thomas, Alyssa Lo, Ashley Crawford, and Cody Crawford-and a proud great-grandmother to Emma, Kai, Wyatt, and Lyla. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Coday of Elk City, Oklahoma, and her sister, Marlene Timmons of Des Moines, Iowa. Her older sister Betty and younger brother John passed in November 2023 and February of 2024 respectively.
Anita spent much of her adult life in Lompoc, California, where she raised her girls, loved on her grandchildren, and worked in the jewelry business, earning her certification as a gemologist. Anita, Loren, and their daughters loved the outdoors, especially camping at local lakes where they shared countless memorable weekends and summers. Anita and Loren were also passionate bowlers, frequently competing in tournaments with the local Elks Lodge.
In 2004, the couple relocated to Lawton, Oklahoma to enjoy their retirement. Anita cherished the slower pace of life in the country, where she remained the heart and soul of every family gathering. Her warm presence, wry sense of humor, and deep love for her family were the foundation of every celebration.
Anita's absence leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
A private service will be held by the family at a later date.

Anita was a smart and witty member of our Goose Bay HS Labrador class of 1962, and it was there in Canada she met Sonny. We're so sorry for your loss Sonny, and very happy you and Anita had so many wonderful years together. Gail Wilson Williams...and many other "Goosebrats"
