It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anita Darlene Harrison, who left us peacefully on August 1, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on March 2, 1958, in Duluth, Georgia, Darlene was a treasured daughter, sister, mother, and friend. As longtime resident of Sugar Hill, Georgia, Darlene dedicated her life to caring for others. Her warm spirit and nurturing nature touched the lives of countless individuals.
Darlene is predeceased by her ex-husband, Robert Harrison; parents, George and Elise Day; and aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
Darlene is survived by her beloved daughter, Aleafa Beylouni (Elie); brother, Doug Day; sister, Gwen Pearson (Jerry); nieces, Audrey Pearson and Deanna White; aunt Jane Palmer (Adam); Uncles, Kenneth Dodd (Kay), Wayman Dodd (Elaine), and Dalmer Dodd; Great Nieces, Cayley White, Jazlyn White, and Ryleigh Baker; best friend Evelyn Martin; adopted daughter, Tonia Terry and adopted grandson Jaxsun Lynch; adopted daughter's Rebekah Wingo and Cassandra Thompson; adopted grandchildren, Ethan and Brian Newell, and cousins, who all held a special place in her heart.
Throughout her life, Darlene embodied a spirit filled with joy and laughter. Known as a jokester, she had an unparalleled ability to bring smiles and laughter to the lives of those around her. Her love of God and the beach, paired with her colorful personality, made her a beacon of positivity in her community. Darlene enjoyed reading pioneer romance novels and had a deep affection for animals, especially dogs and birds, which brought her immense joy.
Professionally, Darlene dedicated herself as a school bus monitor with Gwinnett County Schools, a role that reflected her profound love for children. Her commitment to their safety and happiness was recognised when she received an award for skillfully diffusing conflicts throughout the school year.
Darlene's warmth and vibrant spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. To honor her life and legacy, a visitation will be held at Crowell Brothers Buford Chapel, 201 Morningside Drive, Buford GA 30518, on August 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place the following day, August 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Crowell Brothers Buford Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Island Ford Baptist Church Cemetery.
In her memory, we invite all who loved Darlene to join us as we celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the countless smiles she shared. May she rest in peace, forever cherished in our hearts.
