Born on March 25, 1953, in Williamson County, Tennessee, Anita was the daughter of the late Fred Norman Lancaster and Margie Potts Lancaster. She was a 1971 graduate of Spring Hill High School where she played basketball. Anita was the devoted wife of W.E. King until his passing on October 10, 2014. She worked at Union Carbide for several years before dedicating her life to caregiving, where her dedication, hard work, and selfless spirit were evident. A dedicated Christian, Anita was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Santa Fe, Tennessee.

Known for her warm and welcoming spirit, Anita never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She found joy in attending races and mule pullings, serving as an announcer for many years, and was honored to be inducted into the Mule Day Hall of Fame. Anita also loved traveling to the beach and mountains, creating cherished memories with her loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, Anita was a compassionate, family-oriented woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving son, Gregory Scott “Scotty” (Lisa) Dial of Columbia, brother, Freddie (Charlene) Lancaster of Theta, sister, Reta (Carl) Hutcherson of Steam Mill Hollow, granddaughter, Shelby Dial, bonus granddaughter, Maggie Speck, special friends, O.N. and Kat King, Ed Parker, and many dear nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Brenda Faye Lancaster and Sheilah Lancaster.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Case Ofield, Brody Ofield, Coty Speck, Carl “Boo Boo” Hutcherson, Jr., Hunter Jones, Luke Jones, and Matt Povlovich. Honorary pallbearers will include Daniel Mosley, her old mule pulling family, and the members of Faith Baptist Church in Santa Fe.
