It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Anita Levy, who has to take her spirited, witty, and charismatic essence on a new adventure in Olam Haba. Born in the Bronx, New York, on August 25, 1939, Anita, affectionately known as Grandma or GG to a lucky few, was the human embodiment of a typical New Yorker, which she brought with her as she made her pilgrimage to Minnesota, which became her home. She passed her fortitude, strength and heart on to her children and grandchildren. Anita was always in motion, full of energy, and with a sense of humor and fearlessness that made her the matriarch she was, a treasure in our lives. Retiring from GE Capital in 2004, Anita happily ditched the working world for a life of Mahjong games, cooking up a storm, and soaking up the sun in Arizona.

Anita is survived by children, Steven (Deb) Levy, Barbara (Robert) Johnson, and Howard Levy; grandchildren, Jacob, Dan (Anna), Elyssa (Matt), Taylor (Sam), and Nate (Tori); and great-grandchildren, Mason, Quinn, Zoey, Henry, Hazel, Myles, and Aria. Anita was preceded in death by parents, Jacob and Fannie Kunin; and brother, Albert Kunin.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Anita's life on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 12:00pm at the United Hebrew Brotherhood Cemetery, 2605 West 70th 1/2 Street, Richfield. Shiva will be observed at 7:00pm Tuesday evening at Beth El Synagogue, 5225 Barry St W., St Louis Park, with a meal beginning at 5:30pm.

In honor of Anita, we encourage you to bring your best stories and favorite photos to share on her memorial page. Memorials preferred to the Minneapolis JCC.
