Rolla Mae Engler

Rolla Mae Engler, age 97, was born on July 18, 1928, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and peacefully passed away on August 15, 2025, in Shorewood, Minnesota.

Rolla was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Fanny Kopman; her adoring and loving spouse, Marvin N. Engler; her brother, Marshall Kopman; and her sister, Phyllis Katz. She is survived by her four children, Lorrie Kantar (David), Jeff Engler (Evelyn), Lee Engler (Patti), and Abbie Engler (Matt Mesibov); as well as her grandchildren, Amy Hoffman, Aaron Engler, Mollie Sommer, Lauren Dumont, Max Engler, Alissa Mesibov Jordan Mesibov; and seven great-grandchildren, Ben, Sammy, Ava, Noah, Zane, Sadie and Louie.

Rolla will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her love of bold primary colors, and her affection for flowers. Her unique sense of style would always brighten a room, as would her deep love for others and her enduring joy in life. She found great fulfillment in helping others through community service, whether visiting prison inmates, bringing holiday gifts to those less fortunate, offering comfort and assistance to individuals in hospice care, or lending a helping hand wherever it was needed. She was loved and admired by all who knew her.

Rolla spent the final years of her life at Trouvaille Care Suites, where she was known as the most colorful, lively resident in the home. Her signature look, worn daily, featured bright visors accompanied by a matching bow in her neatly styled bun, perched at the top of her head, and will be fondly remembered by all who saw her.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trouvaille Memory Care (https://www.trouvaillehomes.com/give -in memory of Rolla), where she was tenderly cared for and surrounded by a loving and caring staff who provided her with comfort and camaraderie in her final years, as well as the amazing care provided by Grace Hospice.
