Anita Marz Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 14, 2025.
Anita K. Marz, a spirited and kind-hearted soul, passed away peacefully at her home in Alger, Michigan, on October 12, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on December 6, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, Anita's thoughtful nature and infectious smile touched the lives of all who knew her.
Anita grew up in the Inkster and Westland areas, where she attended local schools and formed lifelong friendships. In 1991, she moved to West Branch, a place she would call home for the remainder of her life.
Throughout her life, Anita was known for her love of shopping. Whether it was a quest for the perfect gift for a loved one or simply to enjoy the thrill of finding a good bargain, shopping was more than a pastime for Anita; it was a way to connect with others and share her joy.
Anita's family was the cornerstone of her existence. She is survived by her loving significant other, George Montney, with whom she shared many cherished moments. Her legacy continues through her devoted daughter, Jenny Trotter. Anita was predeceased by her daughter Suzanne Trotter, whose memory she held close to her heart. She was a beloved sister to Michael (Carol) Johnson and Randy (Candy) Johnson. The memory of her late brother, Mark Johnson, remains a guiding light for the family.
Anita's life was a reflection of her spirit, thoughtfulness, and kindness. She approached every challenge with grace and every celebration with enthusiasm. Her ability to listen with an open heart and offer wisdom with gentle words made her a confidant and friend to many.
